Artifact: ITEC 7600 Personalized Learning Plan
The artifact I am using to demonstrate continual growth in knowledge and skill sin current and emerging technologies and apply them to improve personal productivity and professional practice is the personalized learning plan I created after going to the summer institute for AVID. The purpose of this plan is to establish short and long-term goals for growth the classroom environment, my weekly plan, collaborative strategies, individual student goals and evaluation of this plan from a trusted mentor.
This artifact supports the ability of continuous growth in specific areas of pedagogical practices. The plan emphasizes a variety of classroom strategies, emerging technologies and best practices to support student engagement and collaboration. For example, by August 6, 2018 the format of the classroom environment supports collaborative activities, small and whole group meeting spaces. After researching best practices and unpacking the essential conditions to enhance the format of the physical space of my classroom, designing the environment is simple. Thing link tracks and highlights specific components of the physical learning environment. This specific emerging technology is beneficial for uploading images and attaching texts for visual representations. This technology tool is a great way to track the progress of this goal for my trusted mentor. I also include videos for specific links to collaborative activities such as Socratic Seminars to promote current technology uses for YouTube and the sharing of videos to support professional practice. YouTube is a great technology tool to support teachers in best practice and continuous growth. The timeline at the end of the presentation and the evaluation by a mentor teacher supports the personal productivity and accountability for developing pedagogical practice and goals. The application and use of the personalized plan models the ability to apply the knowledge and skills from the AVID summer institute professional learning seminars.
After completing this artifact, I developed a goal setting system to promote engagement, a plan for a meaningful learning space and various strategies to enhance a brand new year of teaching and learning. When teachers develop a plan for implementation after receiving professional learning, they are more likely to utilize the skills they obtain in the training to support student learning and achievement.
Faculty development and school improvement require professional learning opportunities, time to digest new skills and a strategic plan for implementation. Completing this timeline for personalized learning and implementation to support a collaborative learning environment, engagement strategies and utilizing current and emerging technologies to share my ideas, my classroom is developing and other teachers hear about the outcomes of making goals for your classroom.
